Yamaha Hits the market with Upgraded Models

Yamaha Motor Australia is proud to announce two newly updated engines designed to outperform the models they supersede. Both Yamaha's four stroke F115 and F200 have undergone changes to make these engines more powerful and efficient than ever before.

Yamaha's new F115 is both lighter and more efficient that its predecessor. Based on the venerable DOHC in-line, four-cylinder 16-valve engine that has set the standard for reliability and durability for many years, the redesigned F115 also features new technologies that make this outboard a true category leader.

The updated F115 features a new, long-track intake system with a single throttle valve and a resonator to improve throttle response. The F115's combustion chambers have also been re-shaped and combine with the electronic fuel injection system to achieve more precise control of the combustion process for improved performance and fuel efficiency.

A new knock sensor in the ECM has also been added to the new F115 to provide protection from poor fuel as well as improved combustion efficiency. This feature also helps assure maximum performance and acceleration.

"The new technology we've put into this F115 makes it more responsive and improves the overall performance of the outboard," said Brett Hampson, National Sales and Marketing Manager for Yamaha Outboards in Australia. "This engine has always been very popular in Australia because it fits so well on the back on mid size fishing and family orientated boats. With these improvements, the F115 offers even more to our customers than it did before."

The F115 incorporates the latest ancillary designs and new materials that help the outboard achieve a lighter weight, which also ultimately translates to even greater efficiency.

In the 2012 model line up, the current F200A will be replaced by the new F200C. This engine utilises engine construction and technology that was first introduced on Yamaha's F250A, one of the first four stroke 250 horse power engines to hit the market and a truly ground breaking engine at that time.

The F200C takes advantage of variable camshaft timing (VCT) to increase low and mid range torque without compromising on maximum output and top end performance. VCT advances and retards the camshaft timing according to the engines RPM in order to increase the intake and exhaust efficiency at low and mid range RPM to obtain better power and acceleration.

The F200C also features a single throttle valve that is controlled electronically by the engines ECM. This enables precise control over the intake of air, which is smoothly routed into each combustion chamber through the surge tanks and the long intake manifold for greater power. Long intake manifolds are designed to increase air flow and work in harmony with the F200C's variable camshaft timing to boost low and mid-range torque and achieve quicker acceleration.

As part of Yamaha's ongoing commitment to the environment, both the F115A and F200C have been tuned for optimum efficiency and low emissions and are rated as a three star ultra low emission engines.

Yamaha outboards are available through an Australia-wide network of authorised Yamaha outboard dealers. All Yamaha 4-stroke outboards are supported with a full 4-year manufacturer's warranty and all 2-stroke outboards are backed by a 3-year warranty – standard conditions apply.

All Yamaha outboards are available with the unique "Protection Plus" package that allows customers to access extended service protection, Yamaha Marine Insurance as well as Yamaha DNA theft protection for more confident and worry free boating.
