The F200G with Digital Electronic Control (DEC), the F200G is fully compatible with Yamaha's ground breaking High Definition Display (6Y9), allowing boaters the ability to actively monitor the critical boat systems and performance of multiple outboards all from the one screen. All F200 models can be rigged to external NMEA 2000® compatible displays or analog gauges using a gateway device. Both versions of the outboard are Y-COP® compatible.

Employing an in-line four-cylinder configuration, with Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) and weight-saving technology throughout, the new engine produces 200HP while remaining the lightest engine in its class. The light weight F200G is better suited to a wider range of boats, which equates to improved fuel-efficiency, as well as better performance.

A second "G" variation of the F200 is set to be released in the middle of 2013. The F200G will contain all the same features of the F200F, but with the addition of Yamaha's digital electronic controls (drive by wire) and the ability to connect to Yamaha's High Definition colour display.
